Holidaying in Alicante Spain
The clean and beautiful city of Alicante in Spain is strategically located on a hill by the sea. Other attractions found in the city are the gothic styled Basilica which is actually the oldest when it comes to the churches found here, the San Nicolas church built in the famous Renaissance style and the monastery of Santa Faz dating back to the 15th century. There is also an archeological museum. a town hall built in the 18th century and a 17th century civil building that is now home to a contemporary arts museum. The palace Gravina and the fish market Pescado are also attractions based within this amazing city.
Away from the buildings lie numerous beaches offering all kinds of sporting activities. Besides the normal diving, surfing and water skiing, you can decide to go on an amazing cruise using one of the beautiful cruise ships found here. Those who simply love sunbathing will find the warm sandy beaches the perfect place to have that relaxing time during the holiday.
Alicante hosts several festivals among them Easter week, the fiesta showcasing Christian versus Moors fight back in time and the traditional festival of San Juan held in summer and involves dances around huge bonfires.
